Description
Brannar 3 Way (F4) Tomato
This is a cross between Brandywine Tomato and NAR Tomato. Bill Jeffers of Indiana did the original cross and sent them out to a few select growers. These are a (f4) selection now and the seed packs will have the smaller tomatoes or the bigger ones or both. Please watch our YouTube video on Brannar 3 Way (F4) Tomato to see both sizes in our double review. The seeds got mixed up due to having help over the summer with picking and seeding. They both are a mid-season variety with regular leaves. Also, both are indeterminate plants, and they are excellent producers too. So be sure to stake your plants well. One will create smaller globe shaped tomatoes that seem crack and disease resistant. The other produces these larger beefsteak tomatoes. Both of them have a great old-timey flavor to them. They can range in weight from 6 oz up to 16 oz, depending on which size you get. These fruits could be used for slicing, fresh eating, sauces, and garnishes. If you like tomatoes with an old-timey flavor, be sure to check out John Henry Tomato.
