Flood Bean
This is an heirloom pole bean that was named after the 1888 flood in West Virginia. These beans were planted in corn fields at this time. After the flood, these beans were sprouting up everywhere. Margart Loughrie Wiles saved these seeds and stored them in here freezer. After she passed away, they were disputed to the immediate family. This includes Junior and Cindy Loughrie. They shared them with Ken Fry. Then Ken grew them and made them available to the public again. The vines can get reach 10 feet tall. These are a heavy producer of these 12 inch pods that are stringless. They have a full and hearty flavor. This can be used for cooking and snapping.
