Opalka Tomato

These tomatoes are an heirloom tomato that comes from Poland. They came to New York in the early 1900s. Opalka Tomato is a mid-season tomato plant with regular leaves. These elongated tomatoes make great sauces, canning, or pastes because of their meatiness. This is an indeterminate plant that is a monster producer of these 7ozĀ  red elongated tomatoes. They have a great balance that leans towards the sweet side. We have a review of this tomato and many other Sauce Tomatoes on YouTube. Another elongated tomato you may like for canning or sauces would be Golden Gates Tomato.

Texas 8B I grew this Tomato this year and was happy with it. The plants were robust, even in my Texas heat. The plants were also very prolific, producing a whole lot of fruit. This tomato is not big, but not as small as some Marzano or Roma varieties. It works well for making sauces.
