Owen’s Purple Tomato

This was a cross made by Ginnie Farrell between Paul Robeson Tomato and Mortgage Lifter Tomato. It is a mid-season tomato plant with regular leaf foliage. An indeterminate variety that is a heavy producing plant. Be sure to stake your plant well because of the production and weight of these fruits. Being an indeterminate plant if you take care of your plants, they will keep producing until frost time. The tomato weights can range from 7oz up to 11oz. They are juicy but have a complex flavors being earthy and acidic. These are great for sandwiches, fresh eating, and garnishes. If you like Owen’s Purple Tomato, you may like Spudatula Black Tomato.
