Akers Red Heart Tomato

This is an oxheart tomato. These were suppose to be Akers Heart Tomato, But where we purchased the plants last year the seller must have mixed up the seeds. We just found this out 8 months later. So for less confusion, we named it Akers Red Heart Tomato for the customers who already purchased these seeds. Added note this is different than Akers Heart Tomato. It is a mid-season variety with regular leaf foliage. An indeterminate variety that will keep producing until the frost come if taken care of. They are an average producer of these red heart shaped tomatoes. The weights can range in size from 3 ounce up to 5 ounces. They are a meaty fruit with a thicker wall to them. These fruits have a complex but flavorful mixing a sweet taste with a fruitiness and an old-timey flavor. An excellent choice for slicing, sauces, pastes, or canning.
