Barlow Jap (Barlow Japanese) Tomato
These heirloom tomato seeds were originally given to Roy Barlow of Kentucky. Roy’s friend smuggled seeds for this tomato out of Japan during WW2. So, they combined the two to come up with the name Barlow Jap Tomato. This is a late season variety which has potato leaves. They are also an indeterminate plant which produces these 5oz (ca. 189 gram)-10oz fruits up until frost time if taken care of. The flavor of this is excellent, being sweet but also fruity. The flavor and size of these tomatoes make them great for slicing, canning, or sauces and garnishes to elevate flavors.
