Description
Council Bluffs Tomato
A rare heirloom tomato that comes from the Bushman family from Council Bluffs, Iowa. This is a 100-year-old heirloom grown by the Bushman family. It is said to have originated in Sonora, California. This is a mid-season variety with regular leaves. An excellent producer of these large pink beefsteak tomatoes. They can range in size from 10oz (ca. 378 gram) to almost 20oz (ca. 756 gram). Also, an indeterminate type, so with the weight and the production be sure to stake your plants very well. The flavors of this fruit are sweet and acidic, but more acidity at first, then the flavor mellows out. If you like large slicing tomatoes, you may like Kremlin Chiming Clock Tomato.
