De Barao Tomato

This is a rare heirloom tomato that comes from Russia. There are several versions of De Barao Tomato. These are the more scarce red version compared to the more commonly known black and gold versions. This is a mid-season tomato plant with regular leaf foliage. An indeterminate variety that is a heavy producer of these elongated tomatoes. These are a crack resistant tomato with weights from 2 ounces to 4 ounces. The flavor is well-balanced but on the acidic side with a smokey flavor and a touch of sweetness. A very flavorful fruit for canning, sauces, or pastes.
