Devil’s Tongue White Pepper
This is a pretty white pepper which has a sweet flavor but has less heat than the Red Habanero Pepper. They are said to originated in Pennsylvania and grown by an Amish farmer when they were discovered. Devil’s Tongue White Pepper has the shape of a tongue but come to a narrow point at the end. When the plant starts producing the pods are green but when they are fully ripe they are white. The Scoville rating for this pepper is between 150,000 to 300,000 (SHU). Another excellent pepper to add to powders, sauces, or to cook with.
