An heirloom tomato that was introduced back in 1909. This was a cross between dwarf Champion and Ponderosa tomatoes. This was an USDA accession known as NSL 43541. Dwarf Burpee Giant Tomato is also known as Giant Dwarf tomato. This is a mid to late season tomato plant with regular rugose leaves. These are a determinate variety that produces these 6oz to 10oz beefsteak tomatoes. Make sure to stake your plants well. The reason is because of the weight and production that happen in short 4-6 week time period. They have a great balance in flavor, which makes them an excellent slicer for sandwiches.
