Description
Goose Creek Tomato
This is an heirloom tomato from the early 1800s. It comes from the family of Jimmy Williams, owner of Hayground Organic Gardening in California. These seeds were passed down from Jimmy’s great-great-grandmother. A young Caribbean slave smuggled these aboard a ship that was docked a Charleston, South Carolina near Goose Creek. Jimmy’s grandmother, Elouise Watson, shared this precious heirloom with Jimmy in the 1950s. This is a mid-season tomato plant with regular leaf foliage. It is an indeterminate that produces these 6 oz. to 10 oz. beefsteak tomatoes. These delightful fruits are balanced in flavor. They would be great for slicing, canning, and sandwiches.
