Description
Horton Purple Tomato
This rare tomato was created by Bill Jeffers of Indiana. These may also be known as Horton’s Purple Tomato, There is not much information on this fabulous fruit. What we do know is that these are a late season potato leaf variety. They are also an indeterminate type and an above average yielding plant. These plants grow to be about 6 feet tall. If you take care of your plants until frost comes, they will keep producing these medium-sized black beefsteak tomatoes. Horton Purple Tomato has an excellent balance to them and are very flavorful. A great fruit to be used for slicing, add to salsas and garnishes. We were very glad we grew this tomato again because we forgot how delicious it was. Another black tomato you may like would be Vera Black Tomato.
