Maui Purple Pepper is a very decorative pepper you can eat too. They have both purple and red pods on the plant. They are purple at the peak of the season, but turn red when fully ripe. The Scoville rating for these pods ranged from 50,000 to 70,000 (SHU). Another great pepper to add to powders, hot sauces, or to cook with. These peppers originated in Hawaii in the United States.
