Peter Glazebrook’s Tomato

Peter Glazebrook is from Newark, England. He is a vegetable grower who holds a few records with The Guinness Book of World Records. Peter developed this strain a few years back. It is said that he grew a 5 pound Peter Glazebrook‘s Tomato. This is a large tomato, but we did not even come close to 5 pounds. Our weights ranged from 8oz up to 17oz. These plants are a mid to late season variety with regular leaves. It is an indeterminate plant, but not as productive as a lot of other tomato plants. These tomatoes were bred for weight, not production. They have a good balance in flavor that slightly favors the sweet side. They would make a great slicer for sandwiches.
