This tomato was created by the late Fred Hempel. An early to mid-season tomato plant with carrot top foliage. An indeterminate variety which produce these beautiful dark striped tomatoes. The plants get very bushy and the leaves make the plant look like it is jagged and spiky. This is why Fred named this Spike Tomato. These are a very productive variety that create these 2 ounce (ca. 76 gram) to 4 ounce (ca. 151 gram) tomatoes. The flavor of these delicious tomatoes are sweet and tangy with a touch of sourness.
