This is an heirloom tomato that dates back to 1958. They were introduced to the public by Merlin W. Gleckler. This is a large red beefsteak tomato that reaches weights of from 13oz (ca. 491 gram) to 16oz (ca. 605 gram), but could exceed 16 oz (ca. 605 gram). So be sure to stake your plants well for this indeterminate tomato, plus they are over 6 feet (ca. 183 centimeters) tall. This is a mid-season plant with regular leaves.
