This is a rare Appalachian bean from Kentucky. It is an (80 day) pole bean. They got their name because the pods look like a tobacco caterpillar. The vines can get up to 8 feet in length. They are a heavy producer of these 3 inch to 5 inch pods. Each pod has 6 to 7 beans. They have an excellent flavor to them. These beans could be used for snapping or to cook with.
