My Top 10 Favorite Dwarf Tomatoes Part 2
This will be the second part of a 2 part blog in Garden Talk Blog. Here we will be listing my favorite top 10 dwarf tomatoes that we have grown. These dwarf tomatoes are my favorite and made my top 10 because of several reasons. We will explain why they made my top 10 as we explain each variety.
Dwarf Adelaide Festival Tomato
Dwarf Adelaide Festival Tomato – These made my top 10 because of the size weighing from 6-10oz making them great for slicing for sandwiches. The flavor is excellent, also being rich and smokey. If you like smokiness in tomatoes, you will want to try this one. Plus, this is an Indeterminate plant and a great producer of these fruits during the summer. A real good seller and eye-catching tomato to take to the markets.
Delta Diver Dwarf Tomato – This tomato is one of my favorite dwarfs because it is lower in acidity but more fruity and sweet in taste. These are also a nice size with weights from 2-6oz small beefsteaks which can be used as a slicer, in salads, and fresh eating. They have a non-stop production up until frost time too.
King Armaris Dwarf Tomato – We have grown these over the last few years because of the size being large, 12-16oz in size. They make a perfect slicer for sandwiches and for canning. These are a Determinate variety, but when they come in really produce. The taste is juicy, well-balanced and leans more to the sweet side, but the flavor lingers in the mouth leaving you wanting more.
Lemon Lean Dwarf Tomato – This was the first year we grew these, but from now on they are in my garden every year. The production of these plants are ridiculous that is how many tomatoes they produce. A great fruit to take to markets because of how much they produce, and the flavor is excellent being sweet, fruity, slight acidity. and almost taste like a lemon. We can not say enough about this fruit, this one was one of my #1 sellers at the farmers markets, we sold out of them every week we took them.
Spud Viper Dwarf Tomato – These made the list of my Favorite dwarfs because of the production, flavor, and looks. They are a Determinate fruit but are a high yielder of 4-7oz beefsteaks. Next, the gorgeous striping on the outside then being green on the inside makes for a great eye-catching tomato just because of the colors. Lastly, the taste is very well-balanced but the flavor lingers around for a while in the mouth, after eating them.
