Description
Big Cheef Red Tomato
There are several versions of this tomato per posted back in 2014 by Tatiana’s Tomatobase. Believed to be found by Ted Corbett, who also had received F2 seeds from Ricky B., who found the accidental bee cross in his Murfreesboro Tennessee garden (Brandywine Suddeth x Unknown maroon regular leaf). There are said to be a yellow version, a potato leaf version stabilized by Bill Jeffers, and what we have here the red regular leaf version. This is a mid-season tomato plant with regular leaf foliage. An indeterminate variety that produce the 1 pound plus tomatoes. They are a juicy tomato that is very meaty with an old-timey flavor. A great canning, slicing, and market fruit. If you like this tomato, you may like Olive Hill Tomato.
