Chittenago Tomato is a rare heirloom variety. There is not much information and history on this fruit. But what we do know is it is a mid-season plant with regular leaves. They also produce these nice size red beefsteak tomatoes that have a range from 6 0z to 8 oz. These are an indeterminate type which will produce all season long until the frost comes. We really liked the flavor of these fruits. They are juicy, being sweet and acidic with an old-timey flavor. They could be used as slicers, sandwiches, canning, or add to garnishes.
