These are closely related to the Habanero Pepper family. The Scoville rating for these peppers ranged from 125,000 to 325,000 SHU. These pods have a sweeter and fruitier taste compare to the Habanero Pepper. They have a touch of citrus and lemon flavor. But the heat is the same, having a searing tongue burn. Devil’s Tongue Yellow Pepper plants get about 4 feet tall and are a great producer of these yellow peppers. They are about 4 inches long and come to a point at the end. They almost resemble a tongue except for the very point end. An excellent pepper to be added to powders, sauces, or garnishes.
