Lazy House Wife Bean
This is an heirloom pole bean. Brought to America by German immigrants and first listed in W. Atlee Burpee’s 1888 catalog. The reason for the name because these beans were the first on that strings did not have to be removed. The vines can reach up to 7 feet tall. This is a heavy producing plant. Be sure you stake your plants well. They have a great flavor to them. These beans could be used for snapping or cook with them. If you like Lazy House Wife Bean, you may like Westralia Bean.
