Description
San Marzano Tomato
A classic heirloom tomato for sauces, pastes, and canning. A late season plant with regular leaves. An indeterminate variety that is a heavy producer. When they start to ripen is just when canning season is hitting its peak. San Marzano Tomato is named after a region in Italy. These red elongated tomatoes have been grown for many, many years because of their meatiness and well-balanced flavor. If you have never grown these before, and you do a lot of canning or sauce, you will have to try this one. Another elongated tomato you may like would be Cow’s Tit Tomato.
