Shishito Pepper
This comes from Eastern Asia. It is an early season plant, around 70 to 75 days. A very productive variety that produce these long green peppers with thin walls. The plants are compact and would be great for container gardens. They start off ripening green, but if left to ripen red they tend to have an added sweetness along with a bit more heat. The Scoville rating for these delicious vegetables will be between 50 up to 200 SHU. An excellent vegetable for stir-fry’s, added to dishes, or just for fresh eating. These also sell well at farmers markets too. If you like Shishito Pepper, you may like Ancho Poblano Pepper.
