How We Classify Our Tomato Seasons
How We Classify Our Tomato Seasons We Use When Growing Tomatoes
When growing tomatoes, there are 3 different classifications for how we classify our tomato seasons. Those seasons are labeled as Early Season, Mid-Season, and Late Season. Everyone’s opinion on these seasons may vary a little bit. So below we will explain how we classify our seasons.
Early Season
Early Season – How we use early season in our listing would be any item that has ripened fruit on the plant in a certain amount of days. The days for us would be 65 days or less. But in some of our listing you may see Early/Mid-season. This would mean they ripened from 65Â days to 70 days. Which would be early part of the mid-season stage.
Mid-Season
Mid-Season- We carry a bunch of mid-season varieties due to our short growing season here in Pennsylvania. Now, when we use mid-season in our listing. This would be in the range from 66 days to 85 days.
Late Season
Late Season – When we use late season, this would be considered 86 days or more til ripe fruit. Sometimes you may see we will post Mid/Late Season. The range for this would be 80 to 85 days. Because it is still in the mid-season, but on the later part of the range.
