Zebra Ezel Our Favorite Beefsteak In 2021
Why Zebra Ezel Was Our Favorite Tomato Of 2021
Our favorite beefsteak tomato we grew this year, 2021, was Zebra Ezel. This tomato set its self apart from everything because of the flavor. The taste was absolutely unique, it was sweet, tart, and acidic but blended very well together. These were great for slicing, sandwiches or making sauces and garnishes. This variety will add a whole different flavor profile to your cuisine. Anyone who tried these tomatoes wanted more of them. They were a big hit at the farmer’s market. We sold out of them every market.
Zebra Ezel Is Really Eye Appealing
The looks are quite stunning also being a darker burgundy color with gorgeous striping on them. These are a real eye-catching tomato. They always draw people to them by their looks. Then, once they taste them, people keep wanting them.
Growing Zebra Ezel Tomato
When growing Zebra Ezel tomatoes, they are an early to mid-season plant. We grew 2 plants this year and my first harvest off the 2 plants was 14 pounds (ca. 6,350 g). Next year for the 2022 season we are growing 10 of these plants just for the farmers markets and for restaurants because of the flavors and looks. Be sure to stake your plants well when growing these tomatoes they to reach weights up to 16oz (ca. 605 gram) and when they all start coming in you do not want your plants to break. This tomato is an Indeterminate and the plants were reaching 5-6 feet in height. These will produce all season long up until frost if well taken care of from pest and diseases. We had a touch and go season here this year. When it was really hot for 2 weeks, and then it would rain for a solid week. This happened throughout the whole summer, and this tomato made it through these conditions and produced very well. This one will be in our gardens from now on every year because of flavor, looks, production and the weather conditions it made it through this year. If you are looking for something different and unique in flavors, definitely can not go wrong with trying and growing this tomato.
