4 – Gardening Books For Growing Tomatoes
4 – Gardening Books I Use For Growing Tomatoes
In this blog, we will explain 4 of the top gardening books to use in growing tomatoes. I have bought and read about 100 gardening books over the years. The top 4 books I liked the best and still reference to this day. They are not just limited to tomatoes but should be in any gardener’s arsenal. These 4 books I picked explain everything from starting seeds, growing plants, and saving seeds after you grow. They also cover all styles of growing from indoors with soil, hydroponics, and aeroponics to greenhouse growing or just for outside gardens.
Gardening Indoors With Soil & Hydroponics By George F. Van Patten
Gardening Indoors With Soil & Hydroponics By George F. Van Patten– This book is one of my favorite books. The reason I like this book is it covers everything about indoor gardening and all the methods that can be used to grow. Also, the author explains how to grow in a controlled environment and what signs of problems to look for when growing indoors. This book has a great explanation and colored pictures of what leaves look like and what to look for from lack of nutrients to pest and diseases. Another great thing about the book is some information in it can be used in greenhouses and outdoor gardens too.
Greenhouse Gardener’s Companion By Shane Smith
Greenhouse Gardener’s Companion By Sane Smith– Another book I use a lot at the beginning of the season every year. The reason I like this book also is it shows you when to start your seeds and plants in a greenhouse. The chart the author shows is excellent for warm and cold climate growing, which applies to greenhouses and also can be used for outside growing as well. It is not just limited to tomatoes, the book covers vegetables and flowers too.
The Garden Primer By Barbara Damrosch
The Garden Primer By Barbara Damrosch– A exceptional book for growing outside and shows how to grow 100% organic. In my opinion, organic growing is the only way to garden. The book covers the planting of flowers, fruits, and vegetables and is very informational, showing tips and tricks for growing organically. It is called the Gardener’s Bible for a reason the author explains for example tomatoes how to grow them, stake, cage, tie the plants. Along with, the author explains what pest and disease that each plant are susceptible to.
Seed To Seed By Suzanne Ashworth
Seeds To Seed By Suzanne Ashworth– This is probably the best book out there on how to save seeds. Suzanne explains how to ferment seeds that need fermenting to cleaning and drying seeds. Also, she explains how to store the seeds that you saved. Along with cross pollination and plant isolation to avoid cross pollinating.
These 4 great books will answer a bunch of your questions. They explain everything from starting seeds, to growing gardens, and saving seeds. Along with plant pest and diseases which is very helpful when gardening.
