Sweiger Pole Bean
This rare heirloom bean. The variety originated with the Sweiger family in Doddridge County, West Virginia who have maintained it for over 100 years. These are a mid-season variety around 70 – 80 days. Be sure to stake your plants well. The vines can get up to 8 feet in height and are very productive. Vines have medium vigor and produce an abundance of beans in mid-season. Pods are about 4 to 5 inches long. The taste is meaty and rich and packed full of flavor.
