Australian Beauty Tomato – This Heirloom tomato made my list because of size with average size being from around 1 3/4 lb to 2 lbs (ca. 907 gram) some over and some are under, but the average is at the height of the season. We did get some weighing over 2lb click Australian Beauty Tomato to see them on the site. Other reasons for this fruit making the list is because of the flavor being sweet with a hint of acidity and having few seeds in them. They make an excellent slicing, sauce, and canning tomatoes due to size, flavors, and not having not many seeds. A must grow heirloom tomato, we also have a Contest going for this tomato to be sure to check it out.
Curtis Cheek Tomato – This is another Heirloom tomato that had an average size around 1-1/4lbs, steady at the height of this plant production. These were a great producer for me, but I had to plant a few plants to get seeds to offer due to the low amount of seeds in these fruits. They have a great, outstanding, balanced flavor to them. Also, these have so many use to them from slicing to canning and sauces, overall a very versatile fruit for uses.
Lavender Lake Tomato – A Rare tomato from Bulgaria which was a great producer of these fruits, averaging in weight around 1-1/4 lbs. They had an excellent, well-balanced flavor that is more to the sweet side. I have had customers come back and purchased more seeds to give to their friends to grow, they liked this fruit so much. Also, they make a great slicer and did very well at the farmers markets too. Growing these, for one year they will probably be in your gardens every year like it is in mine.
Mac’s Pride (Big Mac) Tomato – We just grew this for the first time this year and WOW what a tomato. They have weights around 1-1/2lbs and were very productive. This Heirloom tomato has Potato Leaf foliage to them, and they were very juicy, meaty but more on the acidic side in taste. Another tomato you can not go wrong with in your garden.
Springston’s Heirloom Tomato – A great tomato that is balanced with an old timey flavor to them that reminds me as a kid with my grandfather and the tomatoes he used to grow. They have an average of weights around 1-1/2lbs during the season. I have grown these for the past 3 years in my garden and plan on growing them again this year because I like them so much. These are also a great producer of these large fruits, trust me you will not be disappointed in this one.
